The project is a complete renovation of a typical shed built in the 1920’s that was found in an extremely precarious condition. The 2,900 sf. building was purchased by the Minano, a peruvian migrant family who acquired the property with the intention of expanding their family business.

The remodel was designed with the intention of minimizing the impact to its context. The materials selected are utilitarian and standard for industrial buildings; light and reflective colors were selected to reflect the already vibrant colors of the neighborhood. The roof was raised to accommodate modern car lifts and create a mezzanine for extra space. By keeping the front parapet used for signage, the typology of the original building was preserved maintaining the character of the neighborhood.
